Fight against "under-the-table" wages added EUR 3.87 mln to tax revenue in Latvia

In implementing prevention and control measures against "under-the-table" wages, the State Revenue Service (SRS) in Latvia increased the revenue of state social security payments and personal income tax by EUR 3.87 million in the first nine months of the year 2015, informs LETA.

According to SRS, social security payments in nine months grew EUR 2.71 million, as compared with EUR 2.15 million in the respective period last year. Meanwhile, personal income tax revenue increased EUR 1.16 million, as compared with EUR 1.04 million last year.

 

As a result of these prevention measures, 961 physical persons reported official employment, which is 314 persons more when compared with the first nine months of 2014.

 

These persons contributed to the state EUR 8,510 in tax payments.
