SEB reduces Estonia's economic growth forecast for 2015

BC, Tallinn, 07.10.2015.Print version
Due to the weak first quarter and lower-than-expected exports, SEB lowered on Wednesday the economic growth forecast for Estonia for the year 2015 to 1.9% instead of 2.2% forecast earlier, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

In conditions of poor external demand, the Estonian economy has received great help from the increased consumption of households, which has been supported by high employment and strong wage growth, SEB said.

In the coming years, a more balanced growth is expected, where exports and investments in fixed assets contribute more.

Therefore, economic growth will accelerate in 2016 to 2.7% and to 3.4% in 2017 in Estonia, SEB announced.
