Tallinn 49th most expensive city, ahead of Riga and Vilnius

Print versionSwiss Bank USB has released the results of a research study on the cost of living in 71 major cities worldwide, and Riga is listed as #65. Of the other Baltic capitals, Tallinn is the 49th most expensive city, Vilnius – 59th, writes LETA.
The most expensive cities in the world are New York, Zurich and Geneva. Oslo is in fourth place, Copenhagen fifth, but London is #6.
The most affordable metropolises in the world are Bucharest, Sofia and Kiev.
The researchers looked at a goods and services basket (122 total) that included the monthly rent, the electric and central heating bills, groceries, attire and public transportation.
