GDP in Lithuania amounted to EUR 9 284.7 mln in Q2

Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on more comprehensive business, tax and price statistics, in II quarter 2015, GDP at current prices amounted to EUR 9 284.7 million. Compared to the same period of 2014, the GDP change stood at 1.4% (1) (seasonally and working day unadjusted – 1.4%).

Compared to I quarter 2015, the GDP change was positive and stood at 0.7%1.

 

As for GDP estimated by production approach, according to the revised data, in II quarter 2015, against II quarter 2014, a positive change1 in the value added was observed in almost all activities, except for agriculture, forestry and fishing, real estate  activities, financial and insurance activities . The fastest growth in the value added was observed in enterprises engaged in construction (7.8%), manufacturing (2.5%), professional, scientific and technical, and administrative and support (3.2%) activities. In II quarter 2015, against II quarter 2014, the value added of enterprises engaged in agriculture, forestry and fishing decreased by 5.4%, real estate activities – 1.2%, financial and insurance activities – 0.7%.

 

In I half-year 2015, GDP at current prices amounted to EUR 17 520.7 million. Compared to I half-year 2014, the GDP change stood at 1.5%1 (seasonally and working day unadjusted – 1.4%).


As for GDP estimated by expenditure approach, in II quarter 2015, against the same quarter of 2014, an increase1 was observed in all main GDP components. Final household consumption expenditure grew by 6.5, gross fixed capital formation – by 11.2%. Exports of goods and services grew slower than imports – 1 and 8.3% respectively.

GDP changes have been estimated using a chain-linking method, which enables the elimination of the influence of price changes.

 

Values and changes in GDP and its components depend on the different seasons of the year; therefore, changes used for the comparison of GDP and its components for different periods are seasonally and working day adjusted.
