Annual salaries in Latvia increase by 5.5% on average in 2015

Monthly wages in Latvia have increased 3.7% on the average, and the overall annual salaries by 5.5%, furthermore, most employers are planning to increase wages in 2016, reports LETA, according to the annual survey carried out by the human resource management consulting company Fontes.

The survey comprises data on more than 37,000 employees at 200 entities. Monthly wages for half or 52.8% of employees has not changed from 2014, whereas 0.3% had their wages reduced – at some companies this was for cost reduction purposes or to make the remuneration system more competitive.

 

Wages for 46.9% of employees have increased from 2014, and the average increase for them has been 6.3%.

 

Besides wages, 59.2% of employees receive monthly and quarterly bonuses this year. 50.2% of employees this year were paid bonuses for 2014 performance results, which is more than in 2014 when the proportion was at 46.3%.

 

The average monthly wage in Riga has increased slightly more than in regions – 3.7% and 3.4% respectively. The average yearly salary has increased more in regions, by 5.8%, while Riga recorded a 5.4% increase.
