Seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 0.3% in the euro area in Q2

Seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 0.3% in the euro area (EA19) and by 0.4% in the EU28 during the second quarter of 2015, compared with the previous quarter. In the first quarter of 2015, GDP grew by 0.4% in both areas, reports LETA/ELTA, referring to Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU).

In the second quarter of 2015, Lithuania's seasonally adjusted GSP rose by 0.6% compared with the previous quarter and by 1.3% on a year-on-year basis. In Latvia, GDP rose by 1.2% and in Estonia – by 0.8%.

 

Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 1.2% in the euro area and by 1.6% in the EU28 in the second quarter of 2015, after +1.0% and +1.5% respectively in the previous quarter.

 

During the second quarter of 2015, GDP in the United States increased by 0.6% compared with the previous quarter (after +0.2% in the first quarter of 2015). Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, GDP grew by 2.3% (after +2.9% in the previous quarter).
