Almost half Latvian residents believe that working for western company's branch carries more prestige

Print versionAlmost half of residents believe that working in a western company's branch in Latvia is more prestigious than working for a Latvian company, reports LETA, according to a survey carried out by the SKDS agency.

46% of respondents told SKDS that they a job in a western company was more prestigious. 42% said work for a western company's branch was no more prestigious than working for a Latvian company, and 11% had no opinion.
The lowest proportion of those who believe that working for a western company is more prestigious than work at a local company was recorded in 2008 – 38%, and the highest was observed in 2000 – 53%.
