Lithuanians have lowest trust in parlt, commercial banks and courts

A survey commissioned by news agency ELTA and conducted on 23-31 May by pollster Baltijos Tyrimai has revealed that 85 % of the polled trusted the Fire and Rescue Department, 73 % - the Church and 64 % - the President's Office, reported LETA/ELTA.

63 % of the respondents each expressed trust in the Armed Forces and Police, while 61 % - in the Constitutional Court.


The State Social Insurance Fund, the Bank of Lithuania and the Lithuanian media were trusted by 60 % of the polled each. 58 % of people said they trusted the State Border Guard Service and 55 % trusted municipalities. More than half of the polled trusted the aforementioned institutions.


Next, more people trusted than mistrusted the State Security Department (VSD), the Special Investigation Service (STT), the National Audit Office and trade unions.


However, more respondents mistrusted rather than trusted Parliament (29 % trusted, 67 % mistrusted), commercial banks (27 pct against 56 pct) and the courts (38 pct against 54 pct).
