Exports of prepared and preserved fish products in Latvia reduced by 2.4% in 2014

According to the data of Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia (CSB), in 2014 Latvia exported prepared and preserved fish products in amount of 82.7 mln euros or 0.8% of total exports value of Latvia, which was 2.0 mln euros or 2.4% less than in 2013.

Main exports partners were Russia (32.1% of total exports value of prepared and preserved fish products), Lithuania (7.8%), Sweden (6.3%), Germany (5.4%), Azerbaijan (5.1%) and Denmark (4.7%).

 

In 2014 dispatches of prepared and preserved fish products to the European Union (EU) countries reached 32.9 mln euros or 39.9% of the total exports value of prepared and preserved fish products. Exports to CIS countries compried 43.3 mln euros or 52.4%, but to other countries – 6.4 mln euros or 7.7%.

In 2014, out of prepared and preserved fish products mostly sprats and brisling were exported – for 46.6 mln euros (to Russia – 51.9%, to Ukraine – 5.2%, to Lithuania – 4.7%), mackerels – for 13.6 mln euros (to Sweden – 37.4%, to Denmark – 17.6%, to Germany – 10.6%) and herrings – for 5.0 mln euros (to Denmark – 14.8%, to Estonia – 14.1%, to Germany – 8.6%).

 

In the 1st quarter of 2015 dispatches of prepared and preserved fish products to the EU countries reached 10.7 mln euros or 58.9% of the total exports value of prepared and preserved fish products. Exports to CIS countries compried 5.7 mln euros or 31.5%, but to other countries – 1.7 mln euros or 9.6%.

 

In the 1st quarter of 2015 Latvia exported prepared and preserved fish products to 44 countries worldwide. Main exports partners were Russia (18.6% of total exports value of prepared and preserved fish products), Sweden (13.1%), Denmark (10.8%), Germany (8.1%), Lithuania (7.2%) and Estonia (5.2%).

In the 1st quarter of 2015, out of prepared and preserved fish products mostly sprats and brisling were exported – for 8.0 mln euros (to Russia – 37.2%, to Germany – 6.0%, to Ukraine – 5.6%), mackerels – for 5.4 mln euros (to Sweden – 43.0%, to Denmark – 26.9%, to Germany – 9.4%) and herrings – for 1.3 mln euros (to Denmark – 25.7%, to Estonia – 15.8%, to Germany – 10.4%).
