Due to Latvia's strong fiscal position, international ratings agency Standard&Poor’s has kept Latvia's rating at ''A-'' with a stable outlook, LETA was informed by the Finance Ministry.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Janis Reirs (Unity) points out that the ''A'' rating group ''is a very positive assessment, and signal that Latvia is a safe place for investments''.

The ratings agency points out that despite slower growth in Latvia, the country's GDP will grow on average by 3.4% in the next three years.

Standard&Poor’s also points out that, similar to Estonia and Lithuania, Latvia's economic growth will continue to be driven by domestic spending the coming years.

The ratings agency also praised the country's financial situation and low national debt level, which is one of the lowest in the eurozone.
