30% Latvian residents smoke

30% of Latvian residents smoke, according to the European Commission's latest ''Eurobarometer'' study on European attitudes towards smoking, cites LETA.
40% of smokers in Latvia are in the 25 to 39 age-group.
Meanwhile, 49% of Latvian resident have never smoked.
The study also goes on to say that despite reduction in the number of European smokers, 26% of European residents still smoke.
Overall, there has been a 2% reduction in the number of smokers in Europe the past two years.
According to the study, the country with the least smokers in Europe is Sweden (11%), while the country with the most smokers is Greece (38%).
