Statistics Lithuania informs that in April 2015, compared to March, prices for the total industrial production sold increased by 0.8%, refined petroleum products excluded – by 0.2%.

The overall price change was mainly influenced by a 2.4% increase in prices for the production of the manufacture of refined petroleum products, as well as by a 0.6% decrease in prices for the production of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (the production of steam and air conditioning supply went down in price by 1.5%, electricity – 0.4%) (see Table 2).

Over the month, prices for industrial production sold on the Lithuanian market increased by 0.2%. The largest increase in prices was observed for the production of manufacture of refined petroleum products (2.8%), chemicals and chemical products (2.6%), while decrease – the production of manufacture of textiles (4.1%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (4%). Prices for food products increased by 0.5%, of which for fruit, berries and vegetable juice – 4.2, prepared feeds for farm animals – 4.1, ice-cream – 3.8%; yet processed and preserved meat went down in price by 2.4%, rusks and biscuits, preserved pastry goods and cakes – 0.9%.

Over the month, prices for products sold on the non-Lithuanian market grew by 1.1%. The increase in prices was observed for the production of extraction of crude petroleum (5.6%), other mining and quarrying (5.1%), while price drop was observed for the production of manufacture of fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment (2.4%).

Over the month, prices for industrial production sold in the euro area decreased by 0.4%, while in the non-euro area – increased by 2.3%.

Over the year (April 2014, against April 2013), prices for the total industrial production sold decreased by 7.7, refined petroleum products excluded – 3.5%. The overall change in prices was mainly influenced by a decrease in prices for production of manufacture of refined petroleum products (18.3%) and an increase in prices for the production of chemicals and chemical products (3.9%).

The largest decrease in prices was observed for the production of extraction of crude petroleum (31.1%), while increase – for the production of water collection, treatment and supply (11.8%).
