In February, producer prices in EU grew by 0.6%

In all the EU member states for which data are available, producer prices increased by 0.6% in February from January, and the eurozone recorded a 0.5% rise. Compared to February 2014, producer prices in the EU decreased 3.4% and in the eurozone 2.8%, reports LETA, referring to Eurostat.

In February, producer prices in Latvia declined 0.1% from January, which was the smallest reduction in the EU, according to the latest report released by the EU statistical office Eurostat.

 

Just like Latvia, the Czech Republic also registered a 0.1% reduction in producer prices in February.

 

Overall, producer prices fell in seven countries, remained unchanged in Luxembourg and Hungary, but increased in 19 countries.

 

The largest monthly increase in producer prices was registered in Greece – by 3.5%, followed by the Netherlands – by 2.3%, and Denmark – 1.7%.

 

The largest monthly reduction in producer prices was registered in Slovakia – by 2.2%, followed by Estonia – by 1.8%, and Ireland – 0.8%.

 

In Lithuania, producer prices increased 0.6% in February, month-on-month.

 

In year-on-year comparison, producer prices in Latvia remained unchanged.

 

The greatest decreases were registered in Lithuania – 9.2%, the Netherlands – 8.3%, and Great Britain – by 8.2%.

 

Producer prices in Estonia, year-on-year, decreased by 3.2% in February.
