57% Latvian residents use Internet every day

Over one half or 57% of Latvian residents use the Internet on a daily basis, according to the latest "DNB Latvia Barometer" survey, cites LETA.

A comparatively smaller proportion of residents – 11% – use the Internet three to six times a week, 8% – even less. Meanwhile, 23% of respondents said that they do not use the Internet at all.

 

The majority of respondents use the Internet to visit social networks (73%) and to check their e-mail (71%). The residents often use the Internet to find specific information (66%), pay bills (62%), and visit online news sites (59%). The lowest proportion of respondents – 3% – use the Internet to read books.

 

"DNB Latvijas barometrs" is carried out on a monthly basis. The survey is made up of two parts of poll questions – one that is constant and featured in every survey, and the other that deals with the latest developments in Latvia.

 

The survey was conducted in February. A total of 1,001 Latvian residents, aged between 18 and 74, were interviewed.
