BC, Riga, 04.03.2015.Print version
The so-called Global Cyber Security Index 2014, devised by the ABI Research company, shows Latvia in seventh place among the countries, who were rated according to five criteria. Estonia is leading among Baltics with 5th place and Lithuania is placed 14th, informs LETA.

Analysis was conducted on the effectiveness of cooperation guidelines carried out in judicial, technical, organizational, capacity building and inter-institutional spheres. The Index's objective is to determine how well countries are meeting their obligations in ensuring cyber security.

ABI Research has the United States at the top of the list.

The Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) is an ITU-ABIresearch joint project to rank the cybersecurity capabilities of nation states. Cybersecurity has a wide field of application that cuts across many industries and sectors. Each country’s level of development will therefore be analyzed within five categories: Legal Measures, Technical Measures, Organizational Measures, Capacity Building and Cooperation.

The final results for 2014 has been announced at ITU Telecom World'14, Doha on 9 December. Please see White Paper from ITU- ABI Research.
