More deaths than births registered in Estonia in January

Print versionAccording to the data of the population facts department of the Estonian Ministry of Internal Affairs, 1,075 births and 1,417 deaths were registered in January 2015 in Estonia, LETA/Õhtuleht reports.

18 pairs of twins were born.
The most popular boys’ names in January were Markus (11), Robert (10) and Artjom (8). The most recurring girls’ names were Eva, Milana (9), Emilia, Sofia, Maria (8), Aleksandra and Marleen (6).
275 marriages were concluded and 165 divorces were registered in vital statistics offices.
In January 2014, 1,096 births, 1,422 deaths, 231 marriages and 197 divorces were registered.
