Real wage in Lithuania increased by 5% in 2014
Meanwhile, the average net wage increased by 5.1% or EUR 25 and stood at EUR 526.5. In 2014, real wage (net wage adjusted taking into account the changes in consumer prices) grew by 5%.
Last year gross wages increased in all economic activity sectors, especially in IT and communications, agriculture, forestry and fisheries (by 8%), accommodation and food (by 7%), real estate, arts, entertainments and recreation, public administration and defence, compulsory social insurance, wholesale and retail, motor vehicle repairs, professional, scientific and technical services (by 6%).
Based on preliminary data, in October 2014 a quarter of the employed earned EUR 332 or less, another 25% were paid from EUR 333 to EUR 507, another 25% – from EUR 508 to EUR 795 and the remaining quarter – over EUR 796. Some 864 employees were paid EUR 5,792 or by 86 people more than in 2013.
