Regina Burneikienė, Statistics Lithuania, 12.01.2015.Print version
Statistics Lithuania informs that in December 2014, compared to November, prices for the total industrial production sold decreased by 4.3%, refined petroleum products excluded – by 0.5%.

The overall change in prices was mainly influenced by a 15.4% decrease in prices for the production of the manufacture of refined petroleum products, 1.1% – electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (gas went down in price by 3.5, electricity – 0.3, steam and air conditioning supply – 0.1%), as well as by a 0.6% increase in prices for the production of the manufacture of rubber and plastic products (see Table 2).

Over the month, prices for industrial production sold on the Lithuanian market dropped by 2%. The largest decrease in prices was observed for the production of extraction of crude petroleum (12.3%) and manufacture of refined petroleum products (11.4%), while an increase in prices was observed for the production of repair and installation of machinery and equipment (2.3%). Prices for food products increased by 0.3%, of which prepared feeds for farm animals – by 7.7, processed and preserved fruit and vegetables – 3.1%. Meanwhile, prices for fruit, berry and vegetable juices decreased by 9.7, sugar – 4.2, oil and fats – 3.2%.

Monthly price changes for industrial production, compared to the previous month

Over the month, prices for products sold on the non-Lithuanian market dropped by 6%. A decrease in prices was observed for the production of extraction of crude petroleum (20%), manufacture of refined petroleum products (16.5%) and base metals (1.7%), an increase – for the production of the manufacture of other transport equipment (0.7%).

Over the year (December 2014, against December 2013), prices for the total industrial production sold decreased by 10.4, refined petroleum products excluded – by 3.4%. The overall change in prices was mainly influenced by a 28.1% decrease in prices for the production of the manufacture of refined petroleum products and a 1.2% increase in prices for the production of the manufacture of chemicals and chemical products. The largest decrease in prices was observed for the production of extraction of crude petroleum (31.7%) and printing and reproduction of recorded media (14.1%), increase – for the production of water collection, treatment and supply (14.4%) and manufacture of tobacco products (12.9%).
