Estonia registered the largest industrial production growth in Baltics in October y-o-y

In October 2014, compared with October 2013, industrial production rose by 1.6% in Latvia, which is the seven largest increase among all European Union (EU) member states for which data are available, according to estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the EU. Industrial production in Estonia increased by 2.8%, in Lithuania – by 1.2%, informs LETA.

The largest year-on-year industrial production increase was registered in Ireland – 38.8%, Romania and Slovakia – by 3.9% each, and the Czech Republic – 3.2%.

 

The largest year-on-year decrease was registered in Denmark and Italy – by three% each, as well as the Netherlands – by 1.4%.

 

Year-on-year industrial production decreased in a total of six countries, but increased in 18.

 

In October 2014, compared with October of last year, seasonally adjusted industrial production increased by 0.8% in the EU, and by 0.7% in the euro-area.

 

Meanwhile, when compared to the previous month, industrial production increased by 0.1% in both the EU and eurozone.

 

A total of 15 countries registered monthly increases, but in Germany it remained unchanged.

 

In October, compared to September, industrial production in Latvia increased by 0.6%, which is the seventh largest growth out of all countries.

 

The highest monthly increases in industrial production were registered in Ireland – nine%, Lithuania – five%, and Greece – 2.5%.

 

The largest decreases were registered in Hungary – a 2.7% reduction, as well as France and the Netherlands – by 0.9% each.

 

In Estonia, month-on-month industrial production reduced by 0.3%.
