A poll of Swedbank among retailers shows that e-commerce that so far was strongly developed only in some spheres of trade in Estonia, has this year become almost a self-evident solution in all trade sectors, LETA/Postimees Online report.

To stay competitive, e-shops have to work hard to provide fast delivery times and delivery comfort though.

Swedbank's trade sector manager Maris Peda says that the bank's survey shows that nearly one third of Estonia retailers are involved in e-commerce.

"According to the retailers own estimates, the share of e-commerce will grow in the next three years to a whole 21% of all purchases made in both Estonian and foreign e-stores," she noted.

Nearly 150 retail trade companies with different sizes participated in the Swedbank poll.
