A new website, kurbalsotarzemes.lv offers voters abroad the opportunity to find the closest polling station so they could vote in the 12th Saeima elections, the Foreign Ministry's press secretary Karlis Eihenbaums announced during a joint press conference of the Foreign Affairs Ministry and the Central Election Commission yesterday.

Eihenbaums explained further to LETA that the website, developed at a cost of EUR 3,200, provides the opportunity to make changes in polling station addresses worldwide, which make it a long-term project, ensuring its use in the next elections or referendums.

"It also can be adapted to the ministry's new homepage, which is "in-the-works", in seeking consular assistance," Eihenbaums said.

As reported, the 12th Saeima elections will be on Saturday, October 4, when 953 polling stations in Latvia and 99 stations in 42 other countries will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time.
