Estonia and Northern Ireland concluded agreement on developing e-services

Estonia and Northern Ireland concluded an agreement for exchanging experiences and creating joint projects for developing government sector e-services, writes LETA/Postimees Online.

The agreement was signed on Wednesday by Jaan Priisalu, the Director General of the Estonian Information System’s Authority and by Paul Wickens, the Head of Northern Ireland’s Enterprise Shared Services Agency.

 

The Irish experts noted that the level of digital culture among Estonian residents is impressive, and they would like to use the support of Estonian Information System’s Authority to transfer this empirical knowledge to their own context, as they are currently implementing an ambitious programme for digitising Government services.

 

The objective of Northern Ireland is to transfer 70% of communications between the State and the citizens to the Internet by the year 2019.

 

In 2013, the Information System’s Authority concluded an agreement with the UK institutions for exchanging experiences in terms of design, architecture and security of e-services.
