Azerbaijan and Estonia cooperate in creating "electronic government"

Azerbaijan and Estonia have an opportunity to continue the cooperation in creating "electronic government", Azerbaijani Deputy Communications and IT Minister, Mammadov Iltimas said at the Estonian-Azerbaijani business forum in Baku on Friday.

"The development of information technology and satellite launch creates great opportunities for cooperation with other countries, including with Estonia. A good example of this cooperation is the creation of the most important link of "electronic government" – its electronic portal by the Estonian company Subernet together with local companies," Mammadov said.

 

According to Estonian Economy and Communications Minister Juhan Parts, yesterday the first meeting of the intergovernmental commission was held, which is a good platform for the development of business relations, writes TREND.AZ/LETA.

 

"The ICT is the sector with the greatest potential. It is important to create start-up enterprises in ICT and other sectors in Azerbaijan," he said.

 

As reported, Estonian economy and communications minister Juhan Parts, accompanied by a business delegation, pays a visit to Azerbaijan; Parts is there on June 27-30, 2012.

 

Riigukogu delegation headed by Riigikogu speaker Ene Ergma visits Azerbaijan on June 27 to July 2. During the visit meetings with Azerbaijani President Ilham Alijev, prime minister Artur Rasizadeh, parliament speaker Ogday Asadov and foreign minister Elmar Mammadyarov have been appointed.

 

The Riigikogu members also attend the forum. The parliament delegation includes Deniss Boroditsh, Eldar Efendijev and Urmas Klaas and Riigikogu chancellery director Heiki Sibul.
