Latvia submitted its reply to the European Commission regarding implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive on November 10, and after technical problems were solved, it has been available at the Commission since November 11, Justice Ministry's public relations officer Liga Brice told LETA.

Latvia submitted its reply to the European Commission on time, but it was not registered right away due to a technical glitch, said Brice. After the data available within the Commission's system were renewed, the glitch was corrected.

Previously, November 11, the Commission said that Latvia had missed the deadline to inform the Commission about the implementation of the Audiovisual Media Services Directive in Latvia.

Altogether, Latvia and seven other member states had to provide additional information regarding implementation of the directive.

The Commission's goal is to see that all the member states precisely implement the directive and alter their national laws and regulations accordingly.
