The markets of personal computers (PC) in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania showed recovery signs in the second quarter of 2010, LETA/BBN reports, referring to the latest data from IDC that analyses and tracks PC markets globally.

Lithuania's PC shipments totaled 32,800 units in April-June of 2010, which is 13.6% more as compared to the second quarter of 2009, while Latvia's PC market shrank by 2.1% to 21,200 units. Estonian PC posted the fastest growth – 17.2% year-on-year, and the total number of shipped units was 17,600.

The market continued to be driven by portable computers, which made up 58% of units sold in Latvia and almost 66% of units sold in Estonia.

IDC expects PC shipments in Latvia to show positive growth rates in the third quarter of 2010 as well as further recovery and growth of PC sales in Estonia and Lithuania.
