Second day of Adamkus" visit to Estonia focused on research and technology

Print versionPresident Valdas Adamkus who is on a state visit to Estonia met with Estonian Defense Minister Jaak Aaviks and lieutenant general Ants Laaneots, chief of armed forces, at the NATO cyber center being build in Tallinn.

The president was introduced to planned activities of the center, informs ELTA/LETA.
Lithuania stated that it intended to join this center and send its representatives to work their as of 2009.
Adamkus stressed that due to more frequent cyber attacks in modern world the Baltic states should together form common structures.
The Lithuanian leader intends to initiate a discussion on establishing a similar energy security center in Lithuania and seek that it become one of NATO divisions responsible for energy security.
