Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas at a meeting with Swedish Minister for Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg on October 16th said that Estonia and Sweden could increase cooperation in e-services already in the near future, reports LETA/BNS.

"Estonia has very good relations with Sweden. Sweden is one of Estonia's most important trade partners, we are closely linked through banking. All the more important is that we pay more attention to cyber security and data exchange for example in the form of joint training and development work," Ratas said.

The prime minister said that preparations are underway to exchange e-prescriptions between Estonia and Sweden and added that the latter had also expressed interest in the X-Road data exchange layer in information systems. "Sweden could try out Estonia's X-Road," Ratas said.

Ratas and Damberg also briefly discussed the European Union Social Summit to be held in Goteborg on Nov. 17, the main topics of which include fair jobs and economic growth.
