Estonian startup Wolfprint raises USD 500,000 on Seedinvest

BC, Tallinn, 21.12.2016.Print version
The Estonian virtual reality startup Wolfprint 3D has raised more than 500,000 U.S. dollars of seed investment through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedinvest to strengthen its product and to expand its business in the United States, informs LETA/BNS.

Co-founder Timmu Toke said it was too early to comment on the exact size of the round as talks with the few investors would continue into 2017.

"We are really looking for developers now in Estonia, people who would have experience in backend, iOS, computer vision, game engines, you name it," Toke told Arcticstartup news portal.

Wolfprint 3D believes that in an increasingly virtual reality focused world every person needs a unique 3D avatar and that the only way to create a realistic life-like avatar is by using 3D scanning. Currently, high-quality 3D scans can cost over 500 U.S. dollars. In addition, 3D scanners on the market are typically large and require an operator. The cost of production limits scalability.

To solve the problem, Wolfprint has built scanning booths similar to photo booths which cover the world, and offers a cost-effective, scalable 3D scanning solution that allows every individual to have a realistic virtual 3D avatar.
