61% of Latvian residents use smart-phones

- According to a market study conducted by Latvian mobile phone operator Latvijas Mobilais Telefons (LMT), 61% of Latvian residents use smart-phones, which is by 5% more than last year, informs LETA.

According to LMT, 25% of Peruvian residents use smart-phones, 35% of Mexican residents, 41% of Polish residents, 45% of French residents, 60% of Italian and German residents, 68% of British residents, 71% of Spanish residents, 77% of Australian residents, as well as 88% of South Korean residents.


Founded in 1992, LMT is the oldest mobile operator in Latvia. LMT shareholders are Scandinavia's TeliaSonera (49%), Lattelecom (23%), the state-owned Latvian State Radio and Television Center (23%), and the Latvian Transport Ministry (5 %).
