Netflix could enter Estonia in 2016

Print versionAccording to sources of the Estonian technology news portal Geenius, the U.S. provider of on-demand internet streaming Netflix will probably enter the Estonian market in 2016 and at present the company is acquiring necessary licenses, informs LETA/BNS.

"All our international cooperation partners take it as a fact that Netflix has decided to expand to Estonia, among other countries, in the first quarter of 2016," a well-informed source told the portal.
Another expert told the portal that Netflix is at present acquiring licenses to enter the Estonian market.
In a letter sent to investors at the beginning of the year Netflix promised to "finish its global expansion in the next two years", Geenius reports.
According to CEO of the Estonian national broadcaster ERR, Margus Allikmaa, Netflix has not contacted ERR and it has not been a topic of discussion in ERR.
