Estonian government allocates 183,000 euros to EU IT Agency

The Estonian government decided at its meeting on July 2nd 2015 to allocate more than 183,000 euros from the reserves in order to support the establishment of the building of the European Union IT Agency in Tallinn, reports LETA, referring to the government communication unit.

The building of the European Agency for the operational management of large-scale IT systems in the area of freedom, security and justice (IT Agency) will be located in Tallinn, at Vesilennuki Street 5, 7, and 9. Riigi Kinnisvara AS compiled a sample and carried out all the necessary analyses in order to select the location of the IT Agency.

 

The allocation of 2015 also includes the investments made by Riigi Kinnisvara AS in 2013 and 2014. From 2013–2015, the suitable registered immovables under the ownership of Riigi Kinnisvara AS and the state were determined, the sample of registered immovables was prepared, and necessary analyses were carried out.

 

It was decided at the government cabinet meeting of 10 April 2014 to plan the necessary funds in the reserves of the government of the republic for the purchase of the registered immovable and the construction of the building of the permanent headquarter of the IT Agency for the period of 2015–2017. Under the order of the government of 17 April 2015, the Ministry of Justice transferred the governance of the registered immovables at Vesilennuki Street 5, 7, and 9 in Tallinn to the Ministry of the Interior in order to establish the building of the IT Agency.
