Rõivas presented E-Estonia to Nasdaq in New York

Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas, who is on a visit to the USA, accompanied by a high-level business delegation, visited on Friday New York electronic stock exchange Nasdaq and attended its opening, reports LETA, referring to the government's press service.

Nasdaq grandly welcomed Estonia. Messages like "Welcome to E-Estonia, The Digital Society – e-estonia.com", "Nasdaq welcomes the Estonian delegation, December 12, 2014" and "Nasdaq welcomes Mr. Taavi Rõivas, Prime Minister of Estonia, December 12, 2014" were displayed at the Nasdaq video wall at the New York Times Square.

 

"The opportunity to participate in the opening ceremony of the trading day of the technology stock exchange is a great tribute to Estonia as the most progressive information society in Europe," said Rõivas.

 

The Prime Minister and his accompanying business delegation also met with the management of Nasdaq Group. In addition, the delegation plans to visit today technology investment companies Silver Lake and Warburg Pincus.

 

In addition, the Prime Minister will give an interview to Bloomberg TV, will visit Sikorsky helicopter factory and make a report to the Council on Foreign Relations. In the afternoon, Rõivas meets with UN Deputy Secretary-General Ian Eliasson.
