A.Ansip highly appreciated the readiness of Latvia to hold the EU Presidency, noting that the visit of the Cabinet of Ministers of Latvia to Brussels last week was very convincing, and he is delighted by the ambitious goals of Latvia.

The Vice President of the EC called the upcoming Digital Assembly to be held in Rīga in May 2015 a global event that will bring together the key players in the digital area. It will draw attention not only in Europe but also globally.

The two sides discussed in detail the key tasks to be undertaken by the EU states in the digital area – to ensure greater coordination and mutual compatibility of data.
