Foreign trade turnover in Latvia up by 15.4% in August y-o-y

Provisional data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in August 2017 Latvian foreign trade turnover amounted to EUR 2.25 bln, which was 15.4% more than in August 2016 at current prices, of which the exports and imports values of goods were 8.5% and 21.2% higher, respectively.

According to Statistics Estonia, in August 2017, the exports of goods increased by 8% and imports by 12% compared to August 2016. Increased exports and imports of mineral products and mechanical appliances contributed to trade growth.

Statistics Lithuania informs that in September 2017, against August, prices for the total industrial production sold increased by 0.8%, refined petroleum products excluded – decreased by 0.3%. The overall price change was influenced by a 5.4% increase in prices for refined petroleum products.

Statistics Lithuania informs that, based on non-final data obtained from customs declarations, Intrastat reporting and VAT returns data, exports in August 2017 amounted to 2.25 billion, imports – EUR 2.42 billion. Exports of goods of Lithuanian origin amounted to EUR 1.31 billion. The foreign trade deficit of Lithuania amounted to EUR 167 million.
