In May, foreign trade turnover in Latvia increased by 11%

Provisional data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that in May 2017 Latvian foreign trade turnover amounted to EUR 2.08 bln, which was 11.0% higher than in May 2016 (at current prices), and the exports and imports values of goods were 9.2% and 12.5% higher, respectively.

As of the year 2018, people involved in economic activity and those earning author's fees and royalties in Latvia will be required to pay 5% mandatory social security contributions in order to save up for pensions, according to draft amendments to the Law on State Social Insurance approved today by the government, informs LETA.
