Riga Port increases cargo turnover by 9.6% in 7 months

Latvia records EU's fastest economic growth in Q2
14.08.2012In the second quarter of 2012, Latvia's economy displayed the fastest growth across the European Union when compared with the second quarter of 2011 or the second fastest if compared to the first quarter of 2012, according to the latest data from the EU's statistical office Eurostat. The second largest year-on-year growth was recorded in Slovakia – 2.9%. Lithuania's GDP grew 2.7%, the third largest growth in the EU.

Experts of Latvernergo AS, Latvian power company, however, forecast that regional partners will join the project only when issues of safety and distribution of responsibilities are resolved.
