Statistics Lithuania informs that GDP, estimated based on available statistical data and econometric models, in II quarter 2012 amounted to LTL 28 053 million at current prices. Compared to II quarter 2011, the real GDP change stood at 2.1%.

Compared to May, total retail trade turnover (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices) in June 2012 has grown by 2.1%, according to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. Compared to June 2011, total retail trade turnover in June 2012 has risen by 8.4%.
Statistics Lithuania informs that construction input prices in June 2012, against May, increased by 0.9%. The monthly change in construction input prices was mostly influenced by an increase in wages and salaries. Over a year construction input prices increased by 3.2%.

At a meeting with Latvian ambassadors today, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) said that the ambassadors should concentrate on support for the economic development of Latvia by encouraging foreign investments in Latvia and Latvian companies' exports to other countries, as well as drumming up support for Latvia's accession to the euro area, State Chancellery informed LETA.
