Compared to the 1st quarter of 2011, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the 1st quarter of 2012 has increased by 6.9%, according to seasonally non-adjusted data of the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia.
Statistics Lithuania informs that in May 2012, compared to April, prices for consumer goods and services increased by 0.1%. In May 2012, the annual inflation (May 2012, against May 2011) stood at 2.5%.
Compared to April 2012, the average consumer price level in Latvia in May 2012 decreased by 0.2%. Prices of goods fell by 0.3%, but prices of services – rose by 0.1%. In comparison with May of the previous year, consumer prices increased by 2.2%, informs Central Statistical Bureau.
According to the second estimates of Statistics Estonia, the gross domestic product (GDP) of Estonia increased by 3.6% in the 1st quarter of 2012 compared to the same quarter in the previous year. The GDP growth decelerated for the second quarter in succession.
Savings growth increased, current account deficit decreased in Estonia in the first quarter of this year, Estonia's central bank Eesti Pank announced.
This morning, a C5 ''Galaxy'', one of the world's largest military aircraft, landed at Riga International Airport.
