In Q1 the average monthly gross wages comprised LVL 467, growth 3.7%
01.06.2012Data of the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) show that wages and salaries, retaining the trend of the previous year, also at the beginning of the year 2012 have increased, nevertheless growth rate, if compared to the previous year, has reduced (in 2011 wages and salaries on average grew by 4.4%).

Freights carried by rail increased in Latvia, by road – decreased
01.06.2012According to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau, 17.2 million tons of freights in the 1st quarter of 2012 were carried by rail, and it is an increase of 16%, if compared to the 1st quarter of 2011. 10.2 million tons of freights in the 1st quarter of 2012 were freights carried by road, and it is 0.6% less than in the 1st quarter of 2011.
